LWANDLE, CAPE TOWN — Ten people have been killed and 11 others injured after gunmen opened fire at an entertainment venue in Lwandle, near Cape Town, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The shooting happened at about 1am, according to police.

The attack has left the community reeling as investigators work to establish exactly what happened and identify those responsible.

Five died at the scene

Emergency services responded to the shooting after reports of multiple people being wounded.

According to police information reported by the Associated Press, five victims were declared dead at the scene.
