ADDITIONAL CHARGES | The State has added several serious charges against Tsebe Phillimon Moloto (51), a businessman and owner of the Limpopo Anti-Drug, Gangsterism and Crime (LADGAC) Rehabilitation Centre.
Moloto appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court after previously being granted R50,000 bail. He initially faced two counts of malicious damage to property. Following further investigations, the State has added charges of arson, five counts of attempted murder and trespassing.
It is alleged that Moloto and the complainant were previously involved in both a romantic relationship and a business partnership at the LADGAC Rehabilitation Centre in Seshego. Following the breakdown of their personal and business relationship, the complainant established her own rehabilitation centre.
According to the State, on 28 June 2026, Moloto allegedly poured a flammable substance onto a Toyota Hilux belonging to the complainant. The vehicle was parked inside a garage at her parental home in Seshego Zone 3 and subsequently caught fire while several people were inside the house, resulting in the attempted murder charges.
In a separate incident, Moloto is further alleged to have set fire to a signboard advertising the complainant’s new rehabilitation business in Ladanna.
The matter has been postponed to 30 October 2026 for a decision by the Director of Public Prosecutions on the appropriate forum in which the matter should be tried.
Moloto remains presumed innocent and has the right to defend himself against the allegations in court.
